Winter Haven Continues to be Recognized as a Critical Supply Chain Asset in Florida
Taylor Johnson PL’s headquarters city of Winter Haven, centrally located in one of Florida’s most vital inland ports, has been the first city in the State of Florida to receive funding for improvements at the Intermodal Logistics Center, a key shipping distribution point served by CSX Rail and the central I-4 corridor.
Governor Ron DeSantis announced last week that the facility will be awarded just over $9 million to facilitate road improvements. As part of a project supporting major freight and logistics operations addressing current and future consumer needs throughout Florida, the Governor recognized that “Winter Haven is a great and fast-growing community, and we understand to keep this area growing, it needs strong infrastructure.”
The shipping boom has impact reaching inland far beyond the shipping ports. This project alleviates strain on capacity and will increase the flow of goods through central Florida. Taylor Johnson was founded and headquartered in Winter Haven because this area of Florida is such a vital inland port servicing intermodal operations. This award, given by the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund and Florida Department of Transportation, will contribute to new businesses, employment opportunities, and logistical growth for years to come.
In response to the news, Taylor Johnson’s founding partner JW Taylor stated, “Winter Haven is being recognized for what has been well known to us for some time. This area of Florida is critical to the supply chain for supplying logistics solutions to our economy that is facing new and unique challenges.” The firm has long recognized the value of presence in this critical intermodal center.
Our firm is excited to watch these developments, and to continue to contribute to the growth of Winter Haven and surrounding communities.
