PRACTICE EXPERIENCE

With more than 30 years of experience in the transportation, distribution and logistics’ industries, Todd C. Rubenstein provides advice and counsel to shippers, carriers, brokers, third party logistics providers and warehousemen, among others – with a particular focus in crisis management, supply chain risk management, auto and business litigation, investigations, hearings, regulatory compliance, mergers & acquisitions, contract drafting and negotiation, insurance coverage disputes, real estate, environmental matters, corporate structuring and finance.

Before joining Taylor Nelson PL, Todd held an inhouse position responsible for all legal affairs regarding the trucking, distribution, warehousing and logistics operations for the world’s largest home furnishings manufacturer.  Prior to that, Todd was general counsel for one of the largest private motor carriers in the Northeast United States.  During this time, Todd has cultivated meaningful relationships, being recognized as a trusted advisor, valued partner and team builder with integrity and loyalty. Todd has always focused on delivering realistic legal and business solutions by evaluating legal positions in conjunction with operational and business objectives.

Todd started and spent a significant portion of his legal career as a litigator in private practice in New York City and surrounding jurisdictions, including New Jersey.  Todd’s practice included counseling and representation of large and small transportation companies, insurance carriers and other corporate entities whose operations create significant exposures.  Todd has extensive experience defending clients in challenging and complex disputes sounding in negligence, gross negligence, professional malpractice, breach of contract, breach of warranty, product defect, unjust enrichment, fraud and unfair and deceptive trade practices.  For more than seven years, Todd was the Transportation Chair and lead commercial litigator of a prominent New York law firm, successfully defending a significant number of legal matters in federal and state court.

Todd is a former intern for the late Honorable Dickenson R. Debevoise, US District Judge, District of New Jersey.
